Citywide and School Chapters for High School Students
The goal of Youth Ambassadors is to bring Art + Service to the city and their schools. The citywide chapter meets monthly and the school chapters meet weekly during the school year to focus on the following initiatives.
- Planning a minimum of 3 events. Examples include volunteering in the community, hosting clothing drives, producing school talent shows, etc.
- Adding art throughout their schools, such as murals on the walls and lockers, and framed art work. The art they create or select is inspiring, creates social awareness, and reflects positive aspects of culture.
- Participating in group discussions led by a facilitator, focusing on topics important to their mental wellness and growth, that are aligned with the lessons taught in our daily classes, or are relevant to the group.
- Entrepreneurs, motivational speakers, mental health advocates, professional artists, and more are invited to speak to the group throughout the school year.
- Leading an anti-bullying and non violence initiative.

“Youth Ambassadors are tasked with creating a school and city they wish to attend and live in. When they see an area where improvements are needed, they work together to figure out how to create solutions. They learn to use creativity, resourcefulness, communication, relationships, and team work to get the job done.” – Shenille Latrice, Founder of iChoose2live
